Today, June 7th of 2022, marks the 32nd anniversary of Universal Studios Florida’s opening! It’s hard to put into words how much of an impact this park has had on the theme park industry, community, and my own personal life. Universal sent a shockwave through the industry back in the late 1980’s when they announced their intentions to expand into Orlando, Florida. Universal, a division of MCA at the time, was known for their studio backlot tour located on the sets of their Hollywood film studio, but wasn’t yet known for their presence in the themed entertainment industry.

With spring break crowds at their peak, and summer vacation crowds just around the corner, the parks have been extremely packed to say the least. It’s easy to get discouraged about visiting the parks during this time because of that; however, in this article we’re going to talk about a few ways to still enjoy your theme park visit even when experiencing the rides and attractions aren’t an option for the day!

Universal Orlando Resort just sent out a survey to all their annual passholders inquiring about how they’d feel if the resort implemented a park reservation system. This is a system that Walt Disney World, and other Disney Resorts, have been using for quite some time now. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone. That’s definitely the case for Poseidon's Fury at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. For years people have speculated about its closure, and have even begged for it. However, as soon as work walls went up around the opening day attraction, a loud cry filled the internet of people’s concerns about their potential loss of the iconic, pulp, fan favorite experience. However, after being closed for 19 months, with an unexpected twist from Universal (and with no announcement either) today, March 14, 2022, Poseidon's Fury has officially reopened to guests!
